Subtle movements, short rises and falls, will maintain this orientation and deliver side-to-side darting action; when it's time to retrieve the bait, upward tension pulls the ring to the rail's top end, turning the 3D Octopus into a vertical position. "This eliminates the strenuous task of pulling a heavy bait horizontally through the water column and instead turns the 3D Octopus into a vertical position," Chavez explains.
